1.2 Code Style Check (ruff)

ruff check .

Result: All checks passed!, zero lint errors.

1.3 Key Mathematical Correctness Verification (built into tests)

  • Consumer law of diminishing marginal utility
  • Producer law of increasing marginal cost
  • Perfect competition P = MC
  • Doubling the money supply ⇒ doubling the price level (quantity theory of money)
  • Solow steady state k* = (s·A/(δ+n))^(1/(1-α))
  • Golden-rule saving rate = α
  • Money multiplier = 1/reserve ratio = 10
  • Negative externality overproduction (Q_priv > Q_soc)
  • Monopoly price > marginal cost, monopoly exhibits deadweight loss
  • Optimal consumption bundle x* = αI/Px satisfies the tangency condition MRS = Px/Py
  • Cournot equilibrium q* = (a−c)/(b(n+1)), collusion price > Nash price > competitive price
  • Loanable funds equilibrium S = I + G, fiscal expansion crowds out private investment
  • IS-LM equilibrium lies on both the IS and LM curves, spending multiplier 1/(1−b(1−t))

2. CLI Entry Point Verification

2.1 python3 main.py — Full Micro Market Simulation

Exit code 0, ran successfully

Random seed: 42
Creating 1000 consumers...
Creating 200 producers...
✓ Market converged to equilibrium
Equilibrium price / equilibrium quantity / total surplus all output

Conclusion: The price converges gradually from 50 to equilibrium, and the supply-demand gap converges within the threshold, consistent with tâtonnement theory.

2.2 python3 main.py --macro — Macro Model Demonstration

Exit code 0, all 9 macro modules output:

Module Key output Theory verification
GDP accounting GDP=9000, four expenditure components Expenditure-method identity
CPI and inflation CPI=110, inflation rate=10% (110-100)/100
Quantity theory of money M×V=P×Y MV=PY
Unemployment analysis Unemployment rate=5.26%, participation rate=95% 500/9500
Solow model Steady state k*, golden-rule k, golden-rule saving rate=α α=0.3
Money creation Reserve ratio 10% ⇒ multiplier 10, deposits 1000 ⇒ M=10000 1/r
AD-AS Short/long-run equilibrium, potential output reversion Long-run supply is vertical
Phillips curve Natural unemployment rate 5%, sacrifice ratio 2.0 1/β=2
Loanable funds market Equilibrium interest rate, fiscal expansion raises rate, crowds out investment S=I+G
IS-LM Equilibrium Y=1068.97, r=17.24%, multiplier 2.50 IS and LM solved jointly

2.3 python3 main.py --demo — Ten Principles Demonstration

Exit code 0, all ten principles demonstrated (including the new principle 3b consumer choice and principle 5b game theory):

[Principle 1] People face trade-offs → PPF: 100 computers, 50 wheat
[Principle 2] Opportunity cost → 1 computer = 0.50 wheat
[Principle 3] Rational people think at the margin → at price 20, optimal consumption 3.29
[Principle 3b] Consumer choice → optimal bundle x*=50, y*=25, tangency condition holds
[Principle 4] People respond to incentives → tax revenue 4148.56
[Principle 5] Trade can make everyone better off → X up 15, Y up 10
[Principle 5b] Game theory - prisoner's dilemma → Nash equilibrium Confess/Confess (-3,-3)
[Principle 6] Markets are a good way to organize economic activity → P=20, Q=80
[Principle 7] Governments can sometimes improve market outcomes → Pigouvian tax 10, DWL=16.67
[Principle 8] A country's standard of living depends on its ability to produce → s=20%⇒y=1.68, s=30%⇒y=1.99
[Principle 9] Too much money causes prices to rise → M doubles ⇒ P doubles
[Principle 10] Short-run tradeoff between inflation and unemployment → u4%⇒π3.5%, u6%⇒π2.5%

Experiment 2: Demand curve shift - effect of an income increase
Experiment 3: Supply curve shift - technology progress lowers costs
Experiment 4: Price elasticity comparison - necessities vs. luxuries
Experiment 5: Government intervention - effect of a price ceiling

Experiment 7: Market structure comparison
Experiment 8: Macroeconomic models (8 sub-experiments [8.1]-[8.8])
Experiment 9: Consumer choice theory
Experiment 10: Game theory and oligopoly competition
All experiments completed!

2.5 python3 main.py --version and Parameter Overrides

python3 main.py --version # mankiwecolab 2.1.0
python3 main.py --consumers 50 --producers 10 --rounds 10 --seed 1
# Creates 50 consumers / 10 producers, parameters correctly overridden

5. Issues Found and Fixed During Verification

# Issue Type Fix
1 Visualization used Chinese labels, and the environment lacked CJK fonts, producing 600 Glyph warnings Environment-code adaptation Changed all charts to English labels
2 micro/__init__.py failed to export prisoners_dilemma/matching_pennies Missing import Completed the exports
3 format_pct semantically formats a percentage directly, so integration test assertions did not match the implementation Test error Aligned tests with the actual API
4 Plotting functions are methods of the new classes rather than module-level functions, so integration tests used incorrect import paths Test error Switched to calling via the visualization classes

Note: Items 3 and 4 were both incorrect assertion assumptions in the test scripts themselves; after correction the system implementation is correct, and no model logic defects were found.

6. Reproduction Steps

In any clean environment (Python 3.9+):

pip install -r requirements.txt
python -m pytest tests/ -q # 280 passed

python main.py # Full micro simulation
python main.py --macro # Macro demonstration (9 modules)
python main.py --demo # Ten principles
python main.py --experiments # 10 experiments
python scripts/verify_all.py # 119/119 API verification

7. Conclusion
